Established in 1989, Cafe Rouge is a French themed restaurant chain with over 120 sites nationwide.
Pass the Parcel
In December 2017 Cafe Rouge organised a Christmas competition called ‘Pass the Parcel’ and wanted a promotional video to compliment this and showcase their beautifully decorated restaurants and festive events. This video was aimed at encouraging social media interaction, ultimately reaching 44,000 people, and ended with a call to action to post a comment about what existing and potential customers loved most about Christmas, tagging a friend too. It also highlighted the effectiveness and affordability of generating excellent video content to attract additional traffic from social media sites to Cafe Rouge’s website, encouraging viewers to make restaurant bookings and review other current special deals and offers.
My role was videographer with responsibility for all aspects of the video including lighting, sound, camera and post-production editing. The filming was done in the St. Paul’s, London branch of Cafe Rouge during the staff Christmas party using Cafe Rouge’s brand assets for animations.
Christmas Celebrations
This video focuses on the Christmas celebrations at Cafe Rouge and was made by splitting the video footage from ‘Pass the Parcel’ thus keeping costs for the client to the minimum, while still generating a hugely positive video, directly responding to client feedback. This video collected more than 130 additional bookings for Cafe Rouge.
New Year’s Eve
Following the success of the Christmas videos, Cafe Rouge requested two more videos, using the same footage as before. This video highlighted New Year’s Eve specials and party atmosphere. Reusing the same footage could have been problematic, but by avoiding any overly festive clips and tweaking the colours slightly, a new and successful video was created, generating further bookings.
The Events Collection
This video suggests the range of possibilities for events that could be hosted by Cafe Rouge. It required original footage and was also filmed at the St Paul’s, London branch.
Testimonial
“Visual Storm are able to respond to a brief well, coming up with their own creative ideas to ensure we’re able to get what we need. They’ve provided us with high quality video content with a quick turn-around and represent great value for money. Their videos reached over 70,000 users online and significantly increased engagement with our Christmas campaign. The team are a pleasure to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
